Toddlers in their latter years gain enhanced motor abilities, communication skills, and a stronger interest in creative play as a result of their increased awareness and curiosity about the world around them. Our Flamingos curriculum is built on such age-appropriate milestones.
Our Flamingo classrooms are set up to promote independence and freedom of choice for our very busy older toddlers. We encourage play based learning through many different learning centers, including:
1. Dramatic play center
2. Block area
3. Art/Creative Expression
4. Sensory Table
5. Cozy area
6. Table Toys
7. Large carpeted areas for group time, music, and movement experiences
Children are encouraged to make props with their friends and teachers to add to their learning centers that align with their curriculum studies. Children are able to practice self-help and personal care skills with child size furniture, sinks, and toilets.
One of our major priorities is to make it easier for parents and instructors to communicate. Parents are given the opportunity to contribute important information about their child on a daily basis, such as sleeping habits, feeding habits, overall temperament, and any current special concerns. Using our communications app, our teachers send photographs of our toddlers participating in curriculum activities and connecting with their friends throughout the day.
Families can either download the app on their phone or receive the photos via email. Parents also receive a daily electronic report detailing their child's activities, sensory experiences, art projects, music and movement activities, as well as all meals and snacks, naps, and diapering or toileting notes at the end of the day.
Our schools host Parent/Teacher Conferences twice a year to allow families to meet with their child's teacher one-on-one to discuss their child's next stages in growth within our programme. A bulletin board is located outside each classroom for your convenience. It includes the weekly curriculum calendar, menus, notifications, and other relevant information for families.
