The Chickadee programme at Educational Playcare focuses on satisfying each child's unique requirements in a safe and secure learning environment. Our teachers recognise that each child and family is unique, which is why we spend time getting to know your kid before they enter our classrooms. Parents are encouraged to visit their children in our classes so that we can build a trusting relationship with both the child and the parent. We get to know each child's at-home habits and routines before they start so that we can make the transition from home to school as seamless as possible. We don't try to fit the youngster into a pre-determined routine or schedule. Within our infant classrooms, each of our chickadees has their own feeding, napping, and active schedule.
For all of our newborns, we provide a play-based curriculum that meets their particular developmental needs through the utilisation of thematic experiences that last (on average) two weeks. All of our classroom activities are planned in accordance with each child's particular learning goals.
Our teachers regularly observe the abilities and development of the newborns in their care while interacting with them in order to plan for the infants' particular developmental needs. Teachers design social and emotional games and activities to assist our babies establish a sense of self, form links with their teachers, reflect others' reactions, and enjoy being with their classmates. In addition, weather allowing, our infants receive daily outside adventures.
Our teachers assist and support infants in developing physical skills such as holding their heads up and following sounds and movement in our infant programme. Our older babies engage in activities with their teachers that encourage them to sit up, roll over, crawl, pull up, and walk. In addition, we provide creative and sensory activities.
Our baby programme promotes language development by immersing children in a language-rich environment and talking with them throughout the day, including during play, outdoor adventures, and routine tasks like diaper changes and bottle feedings. Our teachers begin signing with our infants by using the essential signs of American Sign Language. Both infants and their caretakers gain significantly from sign language development, according to research.
Some benefits include:
1. Enabling infants to express their wants, needs, and emotions
2. Reducing their frustrations
3. Increasing their self-esteem
4. Increasing the bond with their parents and caregivers
5. Helping them to remember words because there is muscle memory involved, and the more senses involved in learning, the greater the memory retention the child will have
6. And the use of sign language actually accelerates the development of verbal communication
One of our major focuses is communication between our teachers and families. We connect with families via a digital communication app in addition to our ongoing face-to-face meetings at pick-up and drop-off times. Our instructors can give you daily reports, images, and even videos using iPads in each classroom. Families can either download this app to their phone or receive these messages via email.
Additionally, you can use this app to notify your child's teacher about their sleeping habits, feeding schedule, and any special requirements for the day before you ever step through our door. You will receive a thorough report at the end of each day including what your infant ate, drank, how they slept, diaper changes, and any activities they engaged in during their day at school. Our schools also offer Parent/Teacher Conferences twice a year, giving you the opportunity to meet with your child's teacher in person to discuss their next stages in development within our programme.
